Air fryers: how to pick the right basket size

The most common air fryer regret is a small basket. The second is not finding counter space. Both are solved before buying.

One litre per person

Three litres for two people, five for four, as a minimum. A basket filled to the top cooks unevenly; headroom is part of the maths.

Counter space

Hot air exits from the top and back; even a unit that fits under a cabinet needs pulling forward to run. Measure the cable length.

Cleaning

A dishwasher-safe basket and grate doubles how often you use it. Skip metal tongs to keep the non-stick coating intact.
